As Yatri Motorcycles prepares to unveil a newer version of the Yatri P1, the domestic electric two-wheeler manufacturer has disclosed plans to establish an extensive network of P1 fast chargers along major highways and other locations, catering to the broader EV community.
Yatri Energy, a subsidiary of Yatri Motorcycles, has been working on state-of-the-art Ultra Fast DC Chargers (60-120 kW) for the EV community over the past few years. These chargers, equipped with the Charging Management System (CMS), are smart and interconnected, providing real-time data through a world-class digital service architecture for an unparalleled and seamless user experience. The company will also introduce Type-1 Gun compatibility for electric bikes.
Yatri Motorcycles is currently testing the second-gen P1 dual-sport electric motorcycle. The first-gen P1 featured a 3.0 kWh battery, requiring less than 6 hours for home charging, while a fast charger could achieve a full charge in under an hour. The P1 boasted a peak power of 14 kW (approximately 19 hp) and a maximum wheel torque of 480 Nm. With a claimed top speed of 100 kmph, it boasted a power-to-weight ratio comparable to 250cc motorcycles.
The first-gen P1 was priced between Rs 4,95,000 - Rs 5,44,900 in the Nepalese market. Buyers even had the flexibility to customize their motorcycles, choosing options for Color (Paint, Seat, and Suspension finish), Power Pack (Base and Boost), Performance Braking (Base and Stoppie), and Digital Startup Pack (Base and Digital).
